100 Essential Tips for Microsoft Office 2010
For most of the world, Microsoft Office 2010 follows the 80/20 rule: 80% of the people use about 20% of the functionality. This is not a bad, or even unanticipated, thing. However, buried in that other 80% of functionality are some amazing and often simple tricks that will actually help make you faster, more productive and maybe a bit smarter, too. Hands on with Bamboo Paper for the iPad
A couple of months ago, I found my ultimate iPad stylus. It came from Wacom, maker of my favorite digitizing tablet. I use the Bamboo Stylus all the time and now I have a pretty nifty note-taking and doodling app to use with it: Bamboo Paper. On the iPad, it looks like a notebook and pretty much works like one, too. I got some hands-on time with Paper. You can read what I learned after the link. Also, if you're looking for more iPad note-taking options, PCMag has compiled a slideshow.

IBM Turns 100: A Look Back
IBM may be out of the desktop computer business, but it's still playing a big part in our everyday technology and computing lives; partly because it invented so many key parts of it and partly because of new innovations like the Jeopardy-beating Watson super computer. PCMag takes a look back at the business founded in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (C-T-R) and shares some things you may not have know about the company behind the "Think" slogan. While you're there, don't forget to check out the slideshow.

What if Microsoft buys Nokia?
The long-standing legal patent feud between Apple and Nokia came to an abrupt end when Apple agreed to pay Nokia royalties for the patent use. That's interesting, but ExtremeTech's editors see another, more intriguing possibility. Microsoft and Nokia have gotten very, very close. What if Microsoft buys Nokia. Where does that put the patent portfolio? ET ponders the implications in this post.

Could the iPad 3 Have a Retina Display?
I love my iPad, but have no illusions about the screen resolution. The 1024-by-768 touch screen is decent, but not amazing. Imagine if Apple made an iPad with a Retina display. According to this Geek.com report, the iOS 5 SDK indicates that might happen. Find out why after the link.
