Cheat Codes:
While playing the game, press [Ctrl] + [Shift] + C to display the console window.
(CTRL+SHIFT+WindowsKey+C for Vista ). Then, type one of the following codes and
press [Enter] to activate the cheat function:
Code Result
Kaching - 1,000 more Simoleons.
Motherlode - 50,000 more Simoleons.
moveObjects [on or off] - Objects can be placed anywhere in buy and build
modes; hand tool can move any object.
unlockOutfits [on or off] - View career outfits and service uniforms.
Note: Must be enabled before entering CAS.
resetSim [first name][last name] - Return Sims to safe and nuetral state at home.
constrainFloorElevation [true or false] - Allows terrain adjustments.
disableSnappingToSlotsOnAlt [on or off] - Ojects will not snap to slots while holding [Alt].
fadeObjects [on or off] - Objects fade when camera gets close to them.
hideHeadlineEffects [on or off] - Show talk/thought balloons above Sim's head.
jokePlease - Print random joke to console.
slowMotionViz [0-8] - Slow motion visuals; 0 is normal, 8 is slowest.
testingCheatsenabled [true or false] - Test cheats.
fullscreen [on or off] - Full screen.
help - Display most cheats.
familyFunds [x][y] - Give money to a family, where [x] is the family's
last name and [y] is the amount.
fullscreen [on/off] - Toggles windowed mode.
freerealestate - Ignore the cost when buying a lot.
enablellamas [on or off] - Llamas enabled message.
babyboom - Adds baby and toddler to all households
resetlifetimehappiness - Reset lifetime happiness of all Sims in active household
displaylotpackagefilename [on or off] - Toggle lot tooltips
Delete object - Delete any object
Easy money without cheats:
You have multiple options, of which writing novels is the one that can make you very
rich, very fast:
1.Start writing novels on your computer. Write fiction novels as they take the least
time. They will not bring you too much cash.
2.When you write your skill will automatically advance. If your skill is high enough
you will be able to write more novel types / genres.
3.The most money can be made from "Romance Novels". You get royalties for 6 weeks once
you finish a book.
4.With the "writing" skill maxed out, you can make around 40.000 every week, which is
more than 34.800 you get by purchasing all neighborhood businesses and takes less
time to achieve.
5.In three game weeks you should have super high-speed writing, 9/10 novels as best-
sellers and 100.000
Aging:
Instead of using a cheat code to toggle "aging on" and "aging off" like in The Sims 2,
you can de-activate the age in "Options", then "Game Options".
Clothes:
To get new clothes, you must first have to buy a dresser from "Buy Options". Once there
click "Plan Outfit". You can put a total of three different clothes for each type (formal,
every day, athletic, etc.)
Easy money:

Making friends easily:
it's really simple to be friends with the whole neighborhood, just watch these steps:
1.Buy a guitar then play it to learn how to play guitar.
2.Keep playing until you reach 5/10 level which gives you the ability to "play for tips"
3.When you have the ability, go to the park with the guitar in your inventory.
4.When you are in the park, click on the guitar in your inventory and select "play for tips"
People watching you will become your friends if you keep playing. I guess the more your
guitar skill is, faster they become friends of you.
Free bookcase skills:
Buy a bookcase, then have your sim start to study. Interrupt the action so that the book
it placed on the ground, then simply sell the bookcase. The book can then do everything
the bookcase could have done for free.
For Poor Families:
The trick is that no matter how many times you use an object, if you sell it in the same
day, you can get all your money back. So if your Sim is poor and needs body points or
something, buy a body machine and keep selling it back to refund all your money.
Disgusting Faces:
There is a glitch in character creation mode where you can make absolutely disgusting
faces. The trick is that if you go to the face designing area and you select a face
part such as the eyes and max out all the sliders one way or the other, then go to a
different face part and select one of the PREDESIGNED parts, and then come back to
the eyes, the sliders will have reset in the middle, but the eyes will still look the
same. This works for all of the face adjusting tabs. Exploiting this, you can make eyes
the size of dinner plates, cheekbones 4 feet long, and a HUMUNGOUS nose, to name a few.
Saving Pizza:
Have a sim call for pizza. When the pizza delivery guy comes DON'T accept the pizza!
The pizza delivery guy will eventually leave the pizza on the front porch, and the
pizza will never get stale. You can stack as many pizzas as you want, so if your sims
get hungry, just tell them to get a pizza from the front porch.
Use your own videos for the TV:
It's possible to watch your own videos on the Sim-TV. You must put the video you want
into My DocumentsEA GamesThe Sims 2MoviesBroadcast (the TV sender you want). If you
then turn on the TV in the game you can watch it! The video must be .avi-clips and the
clips shouldn't be larger then 128x128 pixel also it shouldn't have more then 15 frames
per second.
Listen to music included with game:
First, open your The Sims 2/TSData/Res/Sound directory. The names of radio stations,
plus a few more including Build mode and Neighborhood music should be here in *.package
files. Copy and paste the file corresponding to whatever you want to listen to into
another folder. Rename it from [File].package to [File].mp3. You can now listen to the
sound/songs included in the file.
Listen To Mp3's On Sim Radio:
First get whatever Mp3's you want to put on the game, then open up MyDocuments/EAGames/
TheSims2/Music/(whatever RadioStation you want your song on). Then, Drag your MP3 into
the folder. Now, start Sims 2 then go to options menu, then music settings, then the
Radio Station, then pick witch songs you want the radio to play. You can now listen
to your favorite songs in your Sims game.
Turn off Aging:
In the options menu you can choose the gameplay settings. When you uncheck the box
before "Aging" the sims won't become older anymore. You can also slow aging down in
this menu by setting the lifetime bar. It's changeable from 25 days too 960 days.
Cooking Skill Exploit:
Note: This glitch requires a TV with a cooking channel and a video game system. First,
have one Sim sit down and watch TV. Switch the TV over to the cooking channel so that
the Sim can start earning its skill point. Now, have a second Sim go over and start
playing video games. You should now notice that although the TV is displaying video
games, the first Sim still has the skill meter above its head! Simply allow this Sim
to sit there until it decides to go do another activity on its own. After that, the
skill meter should stay above its head until you start another cooking skill activity.
As an added bonus, you can train two skill points at once! i.e., Go work out and both
the athletic and cooking skills will continue to rise.
Using the "testingcheatsenabled" Command:
This testingcheatsenabled cheat allows you to do several useful things when used
properly. First, hold CTRL+SHIFT+C (CTRL+SHIFT+WindowsKey+C for Vista ) and enter
this code: testingcheatsenabled true
Now, hold SHIFT and click your letterbox. This will provide you with these options:
* Make All Happy
* Force Visitor
* Set Career
* Set level
You may also hold SHIFT and click on Sims to get these options:
* Add Sim to House
* Change Sim Traits
* Force Aging
Work place
* Force Opportunity
* Force Event
* Force All Events
Any Sim
* Trigger Age Transition
* Modify Traits
Active Sim
* Modify Traits for Active Sim
Non-household Sim
* Add to Household
Moodlet Panel
* Remove a Moodlet from the Moodlet Panel.
Note: If it is motive induced, the bar related to the negative Moodlet will
be completely filled.
In Ground View mode, hold SHIFT and click a spot and your Sim will teleport to it.
Easter Egg: EA Games:
When your Sims take a video game break, you can zoom in on the TV and identify
various EA games on the tiny screen.
Strange faces:
There is a glitch in Create-A-Sim mode that allows to you to make very strange faces.
Go to the face designing area. Select a face part such as the eyes and max out all
the sliders one way or the other. Then go to a different face part and select one of
the predesigned parts. Return to the eyes. The sliders will have reset to the middle,
but the eyes will still look the same. This works for all of the face adjusting tabs.
You can then continue to max out the size of the eyes and repeat. You can make eyes
the size of dinner plates, very long cheekbones, huge noses, and more.
Testing cheats:
Enable the testingCheatsenabled true code, then enter one of the following codes at
the console window to activate the corresponding cheat function. You may now also
hold [Shift] and click your mailbox to access the options: "Make All Happy", "Force
Visitor", "Set Career", and "Set Level". You can hold [Shift] and click on Sims to
access the options: "Add Sim To House", "Change Sim Traits", and "Force Aging".
Finally, you can teleport a Sim in Ground View mode by holding [Shift] and clicking
on a destination.

Electronic Arts game references:
Have the video game system and have your Sims play it. Zoom in on the television
to see that the games they are playing are various Electronic Arts titles.
